1103 – Hive Site 04 Middle hive
6/15/12 – I believe this group to be Queenless. Will attempt to get a swarm to put on top of them before wax moths can infest. All three boxes have massive amounts of honey. Only one hive beetle seen.
6/14/12 – Appears to be queenless. Not rearing another.
5/4/12 – Great activity. Needing supers. Removed tape from all hive holes.
3/17/12 – Removed Attic Box 16 and mouse guard. It is official. I have small hive beetles at this site. The bees were still doing quite well. Ultimate deep was not fully worked. Penultimate deep was not very heavy, but there was some weight to it. I reversed the boxes and nadired a deep under the previous two. Placed a top entrance on top. Removed IPM plastic and varroa were present. Copious amounts of propolis in hive. Put all woodenware in trash bags. Will freeze to kill beetles.
3/1/12 – Still alive! More active than 1109. Bringing in pollen, mainly bright yellow, and some bright red.
10/23/2011 – AG – Placed attic box. A lot of propolis. About ¾ of top deep full of honey. Put piece of corrugated plastic under the hive. Many beetles in this hive. .
9/12/11 – AG – Brining in pollen. They are maybe 1/6th done with construction in the top deep. Put in 1 frame frozen honey.
9/1/11 – Good Activity. Pollen Entering Hive. None of the top frames have been worked at all.
Genesis: From TRAP14 caught on the sink at the house ~ 5/31/11
1113 – Hive Site 04
3/17/12 – Dead Failed to overwinter. Starved.
3/1/12 – No activity. Did not get into hive, but fairly certain they are dead. Will add to obits List once I check inside and determine cause of death.
10/23/2011 – AG – Placed attic box DID NOT put corrugated plastic underneath. There is copious amounts of propolis within this hive. They are NOT looking good. I do not predict these bees will overwinter.
9/12/11 – Moved from house to HS04. Do not have bottom box fully worked. 1-2 remain. The bees were bringing in large amounts of pollen. I put the second deep on top of the A box. Gave 1 frame previously frozen Honey.
8/15/11 – HIVED
Genesis: 8/7/11 – from CS’s and Trap11
1003 – Hive Site 01
3/17/12 – Confirmation This hive is dead Starved.
3/6/12 very little activity could be failing. Just don’t know.
3/1/2012 – Active today, Perhaps they are not dead.
2/23/12 – I fear this hive is dead. Activity has been very sparse.
10/23/2011 – AG – Placed attic box and mouse guard. Not all of the top box is filled with capped honey, but vast majority. Put in corrugated plastic bottom. Hive should over winter.
9/12/11 – AG - Removed the 2 supers, the bees were just not using them. This hive does have good stores in the top deep. Noticed a lot of brown bees in the box. Not sure they are “Italians” anymore.
2011 Swarmed 5/28/11 à 1102 via shaking
2010 Built up slowly and made it through the winter. Boxes reversed in late March.

1114 Hive Site 03
3/16/12 – This hive is pronounced dead. They appear to have starved early in the winter. I didn’t notice any varroa. Bees were dead with their bodies almost totally inside the cells head first. Hive dismantled.
3/6/12 – NO Activity. I believe this hive should be moved to obituaries. Will get inside as soon as I think cold weather has passed.
10/23/2011 – AG – Placed attic box and mouse guard, corrugated plastic. Only 1 comb in top box drawn out. Doubtful that this hive will overwinter. This Hive needs to be re-labeled.
9/12/11 – AG – Added 1 deep frame honey. Much activity in the A Box, but nothing being done yet in the B box.
Genesis: 9/1/11 Brought TRAP07 from GS’s. I put contents of the trap into 1105’s old box.
