08/24/2014 16:55 hyvee is blooming. Activities phenomenal.

4/18/2014 17:42 very strong hives. Activity is phenomenal. This current configuration is deep deep deep deep medium medium medium medium medium. Only the box tops the ultimate gate contains foundation frames tennis them. The remainder of the mediums are all holding 9 frames of drawn home from last year.

6/20/2013 16:31

4/18/2013 17:24 Great activity. No small hive beatles seen. This hive started out as 4 Deeps. I hope I didn't make a mistake supering them. Current configurationD/D/D/D/M/S/S/S/TE.

2012-09-30 – activity good. Added mouse guard and corrugated plastic under screen. Small hive beetles were seen in this hive, 2 found on underside of inner cover.

8/23/12 – Checked Top deep is full of honey. Next spring will re-space top deep to hold 9 frames and add 1 more deep underneath, then some supers at 9 frames each.

6/15/12 – Good activity, top box almost all full of honey.

5/4/12 – Good activity. Not as good as 1103. Removed all tape from hive holes.

3/17/12 – Activity good. Attic Box 14 and mouse guard removed. Ultimate deep was not worked. Penultimate deep was light. Reversed these two and nadired a deep under them both. Removed IPM plastic varroa were present. There are small hive beetles in this hive as well.

3/1/12 – Moderate activity, bringing in pollen, Light yellow and bright red. Not as active as 1103. Copious amounts of propolis in hive.

10/23/2011 – AG – Placed attic box and mouse guard, corrugated plastic. There are beetles inside this hive. I suspect SHB, but must do some research. These beetles were NOT small at all. There are 4 frames in top deep NOT drawn out…Propolis present but not as extensive as 1103.

9/12/11 – AG – All paper from the last visit is gone between the boxes. I saw brown beetles in the top deep, I hope that they are NOT SHB. They are only 1/4th complete with top deep. Put in 1 frame frozen honey.

9/1/11 – Added second deep box. Pollen entering hive, but all frames in bottom deep not fully worked yet.

04/17/2015 13:30 supered. Probably the strongest hive I have seen thus far.

03/17/2015 10:17 bringing in pollen.

02/07/2015 17:03 Alive

7/31/2013 07:22 brought trap 1 here this morning. At 7 a_m bees from 1110 were already working very hard. I do not believe they're coming and going quite as much as the bees of 1203.

6/17/2013 The top deep had quite a bit of honey in it, but supers underneath were void of honey. Bees had been stacking up just beneath the top entrance. One medium super was added with 9 frames in it. This discovery has me a little scared that the other hives aren't as full as I had thought they were.

5/24/2013 15:47 activity phenomenal the comings and goings is among the best I've ever seen it. Bees are mainly using the holes in the top deep and the penultimate deep. This hive is a for deep hive with current configuration of deep deep deep deep medium medium deep Top entrance.

4/17/2013 16:37 this is clearly the best hive at this site. Activity was very strong. Mouse guard and corrugated plastic removed. I deep box was the nadired under the previous three deep boxes. Configuration D/D/D/D/M/M/PROPOLIS TRAP UPPER ENTRANCE.

3/29/2013 17:03 positive for activity. Of all 3 hives at the site it is by far the most active. Very much activity entering and exiting the top hole.

2012-12-13 - This hive looks really good bees can be seen through the inspection hole on the front of the hive. This hive is clearly still alive. Current configuration D/D/D/TE. Mouse Guard and corrugated plastic placed on bottom board. The snow fence was put up at this site as well.

2012-09-30 – Hive visited. Installed mouse guard and corrugated plastic for winter. Doing well.

7/12/12 – Added top entrance. Hive doing well. Good number as much activity. The super has not been worked yet. All foundation is still just sitting there. Not sure what they are doing in there.

6/23/12 – super has not been drawn out. Foundation untouched. Don't understand why. Only hive at site without top entrance. Not going nearly as well as 1111.

5/4/12 – Huge amount of activity. Most active hive at the site. Needs supered.

3/21/12 – Removed AB21, Mouse Guard, and IPM Plastic Sheet, varroa were present, but few. Reversed two deeps then nadired a deep beneath both. Looking solid. Doing better than the hives at HS04

2/28/12 – Visited after work. Activity! May have overwintered.

10/25/11 – AG on inside of box. Not much buildup in top deep. Good numbers of bees. Placed Attic Box, mouse guard, and corrugated plastic under hive. Poor probability of overwintering.

9/12/11 – AG – Bottom box completely full. Put on top deep. Gave 2 deep frames frozen honey.

8/29/11 – Hive performing well, good queenright activity.

Hived 8/4/11

04/17/2015 11:51 supered 3 mediums and a shallow. Moved to new hive stand. Strong. Building in all three deeps.

5/8/2014 11:26 Supered

6/14/2013 19:28 amazingly this high pull through. The spring when I visited them I feared the worst. Not much honey has been placed in new super sick. All homes in existing Soopers appear clean and we're covered by bees. Current configuration deep deep deep medium medium deep knee deep top interests.

4/30/2013 I am uncertain that this hive remains viable. I did not find any brewed there was a small cluster in amongst the top deep the most in tirely full of capped honey. I will give it a little more time to see if they become viable. I fear though that day failed to overwinter. Current configuration deep deep deep medium medium top entrance.

2012-10-25 15:00 Much activity, seems to be almost as active as FM01. Appears to be doing well, coming and going from the holes, it would appear that there are still drones in this hive. Drones are congregating around the holes and do not appear to be allowed to enter. Mouse guard added at this time. Current Configuration D/D/D/M/M

6/23/12 – Adding very little honey. Did not remove top box.

4/19/12 – Weakest hive on the site. There was a super left on the top of the two deeps from last fall. This group of bees was given two supers. And a third deep box was nadired under both previous deeps.

04/17/2015 13:31 supered. Fairly strong.

03/17/2015 10:17 bringing in pollen.

02/07/2015 still alive.

6/14/2014 11:04

4/21/2014 17:55

7/31/2013 07:19 this hive has really turned it on. They're activity level is phenomenal. Unfortunately there are no holes in any of the deep bodies. This morning I was still 2 * trying to remove grass from the front entrance. I feel I need to put some kind a barrier in front of the hive a mud flap to keep grass from growing. It is obvious that population level is high speed were already working this morning the wire I've shortly after 7.

6/17/2013 17:44 At first appearance it seemed as though things were filled all the way to the top, but upon closer examination it was found that the top deep was 3/4 full of honey and there were empty supers underneath. Nothing was added. Hive appears healthy, they just aren't making that much hone.

5/24/2013 15:45 working very hard activity excellent. Current configuration deep deep deep shallow shallow medium deep.

4/17/2013 16:35 activity good. Bees in honey super that was left on over winter as well as in ultimate deep. Another deep was placed under the previous two deeps. This makes for 3 deeps now. Atop of the shallow super that was left on over the winter three other shallow Supers taken from other hives were placed on top. Also a Propolis trap was added. Hive configuration D/D/D/S/S/S/S/PROPOLIS TRAP/TE.

3/29/2013 17:03 Activity present Stream of bees entering and exiting through bottom entrance. Much less active than other 2 hives but definitely activity. Later during visit activity increased actively entering and exiting top entrance. I believe this I've to be alive.

12/13/2012 09:29 placed snow fence behind hives. No activity very cold morning frost still on the grass. Current configuration D/D/M/TE. Mouse guard is installed and corrugated plastic in place under bottom port.

2012-09-30 – Hive visited Corrugated plastic and mouse guard installed. Mainly using bottom entrance. Activity good appears to be doing well.

6/23/12 – Super almost full of capped honey. Numbers look good.

5/20 – Added a super D/T honey dome being in place at ultimate deep. Hive very strong.

Genesis: Captured swarm from Trap18. Taken to HS05 on 5/5/12. The trap was pretty light.

5/4/2014 12:46 Drones flying.

4/18/2014 14:00 , this is the only hives that survive here. Was super day today appears strong bringing in red pollen as well as bright yellow pollen. Hoover winter with some soopers on still too very angry. Currently there are 123 416 medium soopers. Activity extremely good. Did not get down into the bridge nast

6/9/2013 13:21 I'm inspected doing well top super not completely drawn out but these are earnestly working on it there for another medium super was added today. Current configuration deep deep deep medium medium shallow medium.

4/21/2013 14:18 Added another deep to make three deeps and then three supers. This particular hive did phenomenal over the winter. The ultimate deep was extremely heavy. Overwintered better than any other first year colony. Second deep completely drawn out and still quite heavy the bottom deep consisted of selected frames from deadouts that contained light colored worker brood comb. Atop of the ultimate deep a medium was placed with 9 frames the typical foundation in the three center frames and six other frames on each side containing foundation less. Atop of this were placed two other Supers a medium and a shallow, both containing comb and some foundationless frames. Current configuration: D/D/D/M/M/S/TE.

4/18/2012 12:36 Mouse guard and corrugated plastic removed. It was too windy at this hive location to open hive.

11/2/2012 13:17 activity is amazingly low but there are bees coming and going Current configuration D/D/TE.

2012-09-30 – Hive visited. Installed mouse guard and corrugated plastic for winter. Hive has not been using top entrance at all. There is a major traffic jam as the bees are trying to get into the now occluded entrance.

8/23/12 – Checked. Things looked good. This hive probably could have gotten yet another deep or perhaps a super. There was extensive comb built on the bottom of the inner cover.

5/17 – Hived 5/17/12. Good looking group. Capped brood already present on hiving. All 8 frames had comb built. Hived on a pretty windy day. Top entrance placed on hive.

4/30/2013 this I've looked very good today. They over winter in only the top deep. There was no comb built in the bottom deep at all. Another deep was nadired under the previous two with some brood come home in there to coax him down in their building. A medium was placed on top and then to deeps that had some honey in them already to prevent me from being lost. Current configuration deep deep deep medium deep deep top entrance.

10/25/2012 14:54 this is a fairly nice day hive activity seems to be extremely good. Though labeled as 1211 this hive is actually 1210. Hive activity is very good the bees here tend to look quite Italian. Today a top entrance will be installed. Mouse guard was also installed at this time. Current configuration D/D/TE.

6/14/2013 10:22 Hymans inspected activity is OK. The ultimate super on this hi visit deep with 107 document on the front. Is how I will be documented as being 12 11 today. The top deep was pretty much all the way filled with cat on E I checked it for have helped and it was quite heavy. But head and only added one medium super with 3 frames of foundation and 6 Soundation the springs.

4/17/2013 15:15 Appears to have over wintered. A moving screen was placed on top of the ultimate deep. Current configuration: D/D/D/D Large amount of pollen entering. Corrugated plastic and mouse guard removed. Traffic heavy.

4/4/2013 17:49 there's a very large amount of activity coming from this hive. Almost exclusively from: the entrance at the bottom. Around the mouse guard.

10/18/2012 10:32 Combo Hive at the house from firehouse and cutout from local house on Mitchell Road. Moved to Hive Site 3 – HS3 today. This hive was a much lighter than expected. Overwintering status uncertain. 14:31 Returned to hive sight and installed top entrance and mouse guard. Current configuration: D/D/D/D/TE.

10/15/2012 17:09 - cool today but there is activity at this time. These bees are using the top entrance and the bottom entrance. This hive will moved this week. Drones were seen trying to gain admission. Repeatedly I saw him being rejected. Configuration D/D/D/D/TE.

10/7/2012 hive has done well since being combined. In need of mouse Guard. Current hive configuration D/D/D/D/TE

9/30/12 – Doing well. Very populous hive.

POST COMBINATION

7/22/12 – Did a minimal inspection. Many of the rubber bands have been removed out the front of the hive. The outer and inner covers were removed. Bands were still present on the top frames, but they had been severed. No frames were removed because it still didn’t look as though the comb was affixed well. Will wait approximately 1 more week to go through and look for a queen, eggs, larvae, queen cells. In the event none are found this hive will be combined with the hive it is setting on top of.

Genesis: This hive was cut-out of a crawl-space of a doublewide. Found out about it from MC. The bees were vacuumed using MB’s bee Vac. 8 frames were filled with comb held in by rubber bands.

COMBINED WITH

7/8/12 – Did a cutout a MC’s. Bees were placed in two deep boxes atop of this hive. Later they will be combined into one tall 4 deep hive.

7/5/12 – inspected there was capped brood AND ALSO A CAPPED QUEEN CELL.

Genesis: Part of firehouse bees given comb with eggs from 1202 on 5/25 in hopes that they can make a new queen.
